Reader’s Question:

The RDX seems to be an interesting bet for the Acura. However, I can’t get it out of my mind that it’s just a spruced-up Honda CR-V. Would it be a great ride for the streets of Texas?

Houston, TX

Good day to you, Nico. Nice observation there. Although the Acura has Honda in its genetics, I assure you that the 2009 Acura RDX is no “spruced-up Honda CR-V.” There are a lot of differences that you can check out. We can go from an exterior to an interior comparison to guide you or better inform you.

I suggest that you do check out the Acura RDX at your local Acura dealer there in Texas. You’d immediately notice that luxury is a standard with an Acura. You’ll get leather seats, power-assisted drivers and passenger seat. If you check out the electronics on the RDX, Bluetooth is a standard in the Acura RDX. With Bluetooth, you can use your phone without using your hands anymore. This upgrade to the Acura RDX Technology package will give you even voice-activated navigation. How cool is that? In terms of power, the 2009 Acura RDX churns out a great 240 horsepower from its 2.3 L i-VTEC engine. The RDX has enough muscle to take it to 60 miles per hour in just six seconds. Also noteworthy for the Acura RDX is its SH-AWD or Super Handling All Wheel Drive that enables you to handle changing terrain. Notice I didn’t mention the CR-V anymore?
